Preschool Graduation

 Rylee graduated from preschool today!
Now she's ready for kindergarten!

 Singing some songs

Ashlyn also got a hat- she really didn't graduate though.  She did go to preschool during the month of May because Oma was the teacher!  And she loved it!  But she'll really get to go next year.

Rylee was so excited to get her diploma.

 Grandma came too.

Miss Sarah, the teacher, and Rylee
Miss Sarah taught most of the time and then Oma was their teacher in May.

Playing Around

I think Ashlyn got the better end of the deal-
she got to ride and read while Rylee pushed her.
Rylee was happy to do it though!

Coloring- one of their favorite activities,
especially with markers.

And they love Snickers ice cream bars!
(They actually call them "Sneakers.")

Haircut

The girls got their hair cut yesterday.
Rylee has been wanting hers cut for a while.
A few months ago one of the daycare workers had printed out a picture of a "stylish" haircut she wanted and was showing the kids.  So Rylee wanted a stylish haircut too.  And then in the past month or so a couple of her friends have gotten their hair cut short, so she wanted hers cut short too.  I didn't want to go too short.  But both girls got about 3-4 inches cut.  I didn't get a before shot- I don't know what I was thinking!!

Salt Lake

I had an eye doctor appointment yesterday in Salt Lake.  The girls and my parents went with me.  We left around 8:30 and ate at In-n-Out and McDonalds in Centerville for lunch.  Then we went to the new City Creek mall downtown.  We only went into one store- the Disney Store.  And then we walked around a bit.  My appointment was at 2:15 and then we didn't get out of there until 4:00, so that didn't leave us much time after to do anything.  We went back to In-n-Out and McDonalds for dinner.  The kids love the play place there.  Then after many potty stops- both for me and the kids- we got home around 9:30.  So it was a long day in the car, but we had a good time.  You would think the girls would have slept in the car, but they didn't at all.

At the doctor Rylee asked if we could have more fun after we were done there.  She wanted to go back to the Disney Store.  She has fun when we go- I don't think Ashlyn has as much fun, but oh well!  She does like spending time with Grandma and Grandpa.

As for the appointment, it was very good news.  The doctor said my eye is actually improving.  I don't think he's said that, well, ever!  So that was good.  I still have terrible eyesight in that eye, but the inflammation is going down and things are looking good.  Last time he wanted to give me a shot under my eye, but I told him that made me a little nervous.  I've had that done before with no problems- it's when they do it inside the eye that my retina detaches.  But I was still worried, so he said he would just give me drops to see if that worked and then he would check me in a couple of months.  So the eye drops must be working- yea!!!  I go back in August.  It's crazy that I will have a baby then and it will be just before school starts (that one I don't want to even think about right now!!!).
 Ashlyn at In-n-Out-
the girls love to get hats and stickers there, but they would rather eat at McDonald's!

At the Disney Store- they had a little castle you could walk through.

Too many choices- all so cute!
I got Rylee Belle and Ashlyn Rapunzel.
They don't know I bought them and I don't know when I'm going to give them to them.
Maybe when the baby comes or maybe for their birthdays.

We made Rylee get her picture taken by the flowers- she doesn't look too happy about it!
It was very hot- I think they broke a record- 94 degrees!

Happy Birthday, Opa!

Opa's birthday was Wednesday, May 16.
So I'm a little late posting.
This was the only picture I took- I wanted both girls in it, but Ashlyn refused.
And it's pretty much impossible to make Ashlyn do something she doesn't want to do- I get blamed for that character trait, but I'm not so sure she gets it from me!

Anyway, we had fun celebrating with Opa.
Ashlyn did help pick out his Indiana Jones musical card.

Hope you had a great birthday, Opa!

Happy 85th Birthday, Grandpa!

Grandpa's birthday was yesterday, but we celebrated today so all of his kids could be here.

All of his grandchildren gave him cards and $5, which added up to $85.
I was the only grandchild that actually could celebrate with him- we missed everybody!
But Grandpa really appreciated his cards and that each one thought of him on his birthday.

All of Grandpa's kids were able to celebrate with him.

Laura, Larry, and Myrt made the lunch.
It was DELICIOUS!
Any meal at Myrt's is a great one!

Ashlyn finally sat with Grandpa for a picture.
She was just being shy because she loves Grandpa!
Everyone had to tell her not to smile to get her to actually smile though!

 Grandpa enjoying his cards.

Grandma took the girls for a walk in the alley behind Myrt's house- they thought it was great!  So they invited me to go again with them!  It's the little things that make them happy!

This is our attempt at a group shot- not the greatest.  Matt had to jump in at the last second, but he's in it!  By this time nobody wanted their picture taken, so I'll take what I can get!

I hope you had a wonderful birthday, Grandpa!
Thanks for letting us celebrate with you!
We love you!
