New Camera

Matt gave me a new camera for Valentine's Day.  He was too excited about it to keep it a secret, I guess, so I got it a little early! It's a small one that I can throw in my purse and have with me all the time.  I have only had big cameras that have big camera cases that I have to haul around, so I am excited about this one.  But it could mean a whole lot more pictures!!! So you've been warned! Here's our weekend of me trying out my new camera.

 New shoes!
All Matt's idea- I would have never bought them.

Ashlyn had to get some too!

 Kaylie LOVES bathtime!
I say "time to take a bath" and she squeals in delight!
But the girls don't like it when she's in with them because they have to hold her and they don't get to play.  And she's pretty squirmy and slippery when wet!

 Fun in Ashlyn's ball house.

 Ready for church.
Sunday before Valentine's Day- lots of red!
We have 11:00 church so we have a little more time to take pictures!

Home Depot

I had heard of the kid projects they do at Home Depot, but never thought much of them until Rylee did one at school (previous post).  She loved doing that one, so I thought we could go check it out.  The girls had so much fun hammering and painting their project.  I'm glad Matt was there to help because I don't know much about this stuff!

Kaylie was there too- she loved watching it all!

It was funny to see Matt with all that pink paint on his hands!  I think he liked doing it as much as the kids- maybe next time he should do his own!

 So proud of their creations!

The girls had so much fun, so we will probably go back next month.
I think they get to make a car.
They want to get lots of pins for their aprons!

School Project

So the other day I was going to get my class from recess when I heard some tapping sounds from Rylee's classroom.  I peeked in and there was all this orange and hammering going on.  The kids were all wearing Home Depot aprons and making a frame.  It was the cutest thing!  So I went and got the camera that I keep at school and took some pictures.  I'm sure everyone thought I was crazy, but I thought it would be cool to have pictures of her actually making her project at school.  She said she painted it and everything, but she hasn't brought it home yet.  I'm excited to see the finished product!

6 Month Stats

 16 pounds, 9 ounces (55th percentile)
27 inches (85th percentile)

Kaylie and Rylee have been sick this week.
Kaylie with an ear infection (her first).
Rylee with bronchitis.
So it's been a crazy week.
But even though she is sick and had to get shots, Kaylie is still a pretty happy baby.

She loves real food.  She hates her medicine though, so even when we try to give her food she thinks we are giving her medicine.  She pushes it away with her tongue until she has a chance to taste it and know it's ok!

She sleeps in her crib for about an hour or two a night (just enough time for me to get the other kids to bed, get myself ready for bed, and clean the house a bit) and the rest of the time, she's in my bed.  I need sleep too, so I haven't had the energy to attempt any kind of sleep training.  Having three kids and a full-time job (so two full-time jobs) is really exhausting, but I love my kids more than anything and I love being their mom!  I am the luckiest person in the world to have such wonderful kids.

People (mostly Matt) think I bundle her up too much, but it's so cold!
After this I put two blankets on top!
She will probably look like this until June- we do live in Idaho!

Ashlyn

Ashlyn makes her own PB&J sandwiches now.
(I guess Grandma lets her make her own!)
She did a great job- and no mess!

We went to a birthday party and the balloon Ashlyn got matched her PJ's!

"Let's go for a swim, Rylee!"
Oh, how I wish it were summer too, Ashlyn!

Ashlyn is quite the character.  She is so much fun- but she can also be the opposite too!  She has definitely taught me to pick my battles!  She pretty much fights me on everything, and I let her win a lot because it's not worth it to me.  Isn't that terrible?  And she's just so cute, how can I resist?

She chooses what she wears- mostly things that are too small, wrong season, or mismatching.  I should take more pictures of the outfits she chooses!  She also likes her shirts tucked in sometimes- I have absolutely no idea where that came from!  But it's also fun to see what she picks out too.  I used to see kids at the store and think how did their mother let them out of the house in that?  But now I know how!

She's very smart too- she says a lot of big words that really surprise me!  She is learning her letters and loves to write her name.  She just started really liking to draw and color- she is very good.  She is also great at puzzles.  She loves to do them with Grandpa.  She loves babies and playing with her dolls.  She also loves princesses.  Her favorite is Sleeping Beauty, but she also likes Rapunzel and Ariel.

She is a night owl.  She hates going to bed.  That's probably one of our biggest battles.  But she's always been like that.

I just had a few pictures of her and I don't really say enough about her on my blog, so I thought it would be nice to write a few things about her to remember.  She is sure a sweetheart. I love my baby Ashlyn!

Eating and Playing

These two love each other so much!
Kaylie always smiles at Rylee and all Rylee has to do is look at her and smile!
Rylee thought it was pretty funny that Kaylie's toy was on her arm like a bracelet!

Kaylie tried applesauce on Friday and loved it!
She likes to "feed" herself though, which gets very messy!

Kaylie couldn't take her eyes off the marbles as Rylee played with the marble thing Uncle Adam made for us.  She liked watching them and she liked the sound they made.
