Swimming at the Hotel

They had a little wading pool that was perfect for the girls- it was a foot and a half deep.  It was nice because Matt and I didn't have to be in with them.  We all went the first time though.  They had such a good time swimming!

 Her starfish float.

Matt found an eagle feather on the road.

Warming up on the heater after swimming.
The weather was pretty cool- windy and a little rainy.
We were going to go to the zoo, but it was too cold and we didn't take very warm clothes.
We went swimming instead!

Boise

We went to Boise this weekend (we just got home a few hours ago) to visit Erin and Derek.  They barely moved there a week ago, but they were nice to let us visit anyway!  We stayed at the hotel Erin just started working at and it was very nice.  And we got to see their new apartment.  They had bubble wrap and tape, which the girls, especially Rylee, fell in love with.  She didn't want to stop playing with that stuff- it could have entertained her for hours!  Derek helped her make an airplane.  Ashlyn mostly wanted to make their bed and put blankets on it.  The girls had a lot of fun- I hope Erin and Derek don't think we're too crazy!  They swam a lot in the pool at the hotel too, but I haven't gotten to those pictures yet.  These pictures were taken with Matt's phone because I was too lazy to get the camera from the car, so they aren't the greatest, but oh well!

Making the bubble wrap airplane.

Ashlyn made Erin (and Derek) lay in the bed she had made.

This girl seriously loved the bubble wrap!

 The finished plane.

Erin had to take this picture of their dog laying by me.
She thought that was pretty funny since I don't like animals.

We were all a little surprised when we heard a dog bark when we knocked on the door.  I knew she had a cat, but I must have missed hearing they had a dog too.  The girls weren't so sure at first and Peanut scared them a little at times, but they mostly loved her and wanted to pet her and let her lick them.  It was a little weird for me to see Erin with a dog- I never thought she was a dog person either!  But Peanut sure loves her- she was either carrying her or she was laying by her most of the time we were at their apartment.

Thanks, Erin and Derek, for letting us come visit- we had a lot of fun!
We can't wait until you come visit us soon!

What a Difference . . .

 . . . a day makes!
It's hard to believe that we went from this

to this!
(She got dressed by herself!)

The girls bundled up to go outside after a little hail storm on Tuesday.
When they went out it was about the same time
as when they were swimming in the pool the day before
and it was over 40 degrees colder!
They were only out for about 5 minutes.

Today's t-ball game was freezing- we didn't need sunscreen today!
Gotta love the summer in Idaho!

Pool Fun

We got the pool out on Saturday,
but the girls had the most fun in it yesterday!
It was a hot day- we broke a record with 93 degrees!
But we do live in Idaho and it's supposed to be 30 degrees cooler today and tomorrow!!!
So we had to enjoy it while we could.

Poor Ashlyn burned her shoulders and neck at T-ball.
I didn't think we needed sunscreen so early in the morning, but we did!
But both girls burn and then tan quickly-
unlike their mother who burns and gets whiter!
I guess we'll know for the next game.

They had to have the tube in their little wading pool-
which is almost as big!

Then they insisted on wearing their life jackets- safety first!
Even though they were only in 6 inches of water and sitting on a tube.

They had so much fun tipping over!

They even had room somehow to row their boat!

I didn't get pictures, but after they played in the pool for a while, they jumped on the tramp with the sprinkler underneath and put the hose on the slide and made a water slide.  Needless to say, they had a BLAST!!!

First T-Ball Game

Today was Rylee's first t-ball game.
Her team is the Blue Butterflies.
She was so excited to play a real game.

The first position she played was catcher- she did a great job considering she had never practiced that before and didn't really know what to do!  She did get someone out though!

Then she was center field- obviously not too exciting!
Actually I think she was just tying her shoe because she didn't sit the whole time!

She hit the ball the first time each time she batted.
It took a lot of the girls a few swings- or more- before they actually hit it!

 First base.

 Running from second to third.

 And back home!

Her team also got water bottles from their sponsor- Pro Image.

She's in the middle playing Rover
(I think that's what it's called!)

At the end they got a treat and a drink.
It was super hot- today we might actually break a record in the 90s.
But I didn't think it would be so hot at 9:00 in the morning!
So we also got a snow cone after.
Grandma and Grandpa also came to watch.

It's funny because yesterday we were talking to Cory about when he played t-ball and he said the best part was the squeeze-its.  It made me laugh because I hadn't heard of those in a long time and wondered if they still made them.  But that's what Rylee's drink was today!  So we had to get a picture of it for Cory's sake!!  Maybe Rylee will just remember the squeeze-its too!

She can't wait until her next game!
