Eating and Playing

These two love each other so much!
Kaylie always smiles at Rylee and all Rylee has to do is look at her and smile!
Rylee thought it was pretty funny that Kaylie's toy was on her arm like a bracelet!

Kaylie tried applesauce on Friday and loved it!
She likes to "feed" herself though, which gets very messy!

Kaylie couldn't take her eyes off the marbles as Rylee played with the marble thing Uncle Adam made for us.  She liked watching them and she liked the sound they made.

Matt's Birthday!

We get pretty excited about birthdays at our house!  As soon as the girls got up (which isn't late enough on a day when we should be able to sleep in!) they wanted Matt to open his presents.  He made them wait a few hours, but were so happy when the time finally came!

They were super excited to pick out balloons for him last night.  They don't like to go to the store with me too often- especially Rylee- but when I told them I was getting balloons, they definitely wanted to go!  Even Kaylie was helping Matt open presents!  She loves to eat paper!

Matt got some treats and as soon as he opened them, Ashlyn told him he had to share!

We went to Olive Garden for his birthday dinner and he looked at the dessert menu and decided that's what he wanted for his birthday cake.  So we bought half raspberry cheesecake and half lemon cream cake.  Both are so good!

Matt's sister, Hailey's, birthday is Tuesday, but she's going to college in Rexburg so we celebrated both birthdays today.

The girls sure love their Aunt Hailey!

January

I can't believe January is over half over and I just barely made a folder for pictures on my computer for 2013!  We haven't done anything very exciting- January is probably the least exciting month.  Except for Matt's birthday, we don't really have anything going on.  It's usually just snowy and cold.  And it's a long month with no days off from school.  (We did get last Monday off because it was super cold, but that doesn't happen very much.)  But I have taken a few pictures (mostly of Kaylie) of our month so far.
Kaylie loves being in her high chair to eat.
And Ashlyn always wants to sit by her and feed her.

Her bald spot in the back is growing in- her hair is still as red as can be!

Sitting up to play is so fun!

I sit behind her sometimes just to make sure she doesn't fall.  So I ask the girls to do that too if I have to do something else, but they usually both just end up falling over.  They don't understand that they don't have to touch her, just be there in case she falls.  But they hug her and fall over!

Kaylie gets so jealous if somebody else is eating or drinking, so I gave her a cup of water.  I think she knows the girls are drinking something better!  She's not too into the water!

She loves her new jumper!

 Jam face!

Now that she's sitting up, we don't do as much tummy time as we should.  But Rylee tries to show her how to crawl when she is on her tummy.  I don't think I'm ready for that yet!

Half Birthday!

 It's Kaylie's half birthday today!
She's six months old!

(Teachers are probably the only people who know or care about half birthdays, but it's how we celebrate those poor kids with summer birthdays.  I'm totally kidding- summer birthdays are the best!  Who wants to go to school on their birthday?!?  So I would definitely celebrate a half birthday at school than my real birthday.)

We just barely brought the crib upstairs!  I know- we're lazy!  But having her in the bassinet in our room has been working perfectly.  She is a pretty quiet sleeper so having her in our room wasn't bad.  She slept pretty well in it, but lately has been needing more room I think.  So two nights ago we brought it up and she has been sleeping in it.  Last night was better than the first.  But I think she likes it.
The girls like getting with her in it too!
(Rylee gets a sticker every day from her bus driver and wears it all day!)

Kaylie goes to the doctor on the 30th for her checkup, so I don't have any stats on her yet.   But she's a great baby and we love her.  She has been eating rice cereal and oatmeal and little snacks.  I think we're going to start her on veggies and fruit soon.  I think she will like it.  She started sitting up on New Year's Eve, so she's been playing like that a lot.  She loves looking around and seeing what everyone's doing.  The girls are still so in love with her.  They love holding her and playing with her.

This last picture is how she looks a lot- she sucks her lip.  It's so funny!  She's a cutie- and people are always telling us how much they love her red hair- we love it too!

Happy Half Birthday, Kaylie!
We love you!
