My eye has a little inflammation- more than last time. So he put me on the drops again that seemed to help before. I go back in 2 months. So hopefully they help again and I don't have to get an injection next time.
Since Maddox is closed on Mondays, In-n-Out is the next best thing. Kaylie seemed to enjoy her first visit there! We ate there on the way there and the way back- why not?!? The workers were the same and recognized us! It was a little embarrassing, but we don't go there much so oh well!
After the doctor we went to the mall in Salt Lake and through Temple Square. It wasn't busy- we are the only ones behind the water if you look hard enough!
Kaylie was actually asleep in the stroller so I didn't want to get her out for a picture. But she is there!
Then we decided to stop at the Brigham City temple. It was their open house, but we weren't dressed to go in or have tickets so we just took pictures. Matt and I lived there for almost 2 years so it is a special place to us. The temple is beautiful, of course.
You might think this is a silly picture, but it has a story!
Oma gave Kaylie these cute Minnie binkies. Kaylie loves them- I do too. They're so cute! But when we were shopping we tried to give it to her and we couldn't find it. I had others just in case, but Kaylie and I both like this one. So we retraced our steps to see if we could find it. It shouldn't have been a big deal- binkies are cheap, but I guess we're attached to this one! I thought it would be great if we could find it, but it would be ok if we couldn't. We couldn't find it anywhere- we looked in the stores we went to, in the carseat and stroller, in the diaper bag, but we couldn't find it. So we just gave up.
After we took pictures at the Brigham City temple for about 5 minutes, we got back into the car and it wouldn't start. My dad tried to find out what was wrong. It was so hot- I had been holding Kaylie in the backseat and we were sweating. So I had to get out and stand in some shade. My dad thought it might need a jump so as he was looking for jumper cables in the trunk (where the stroller was), I asked a guy who just came out of the temple with his family and whose car was close by if he could give us a jump. He said sure but he didn't have cables. My dad couldn't find the cables, but right there on top of the stroller just sitting there was this binky. We had looked all over for that thing and there it was!
So another car pulled up behind us and my mom asked if he had cables, and he did! So we finally got a jump and it started! My dad didn't want to risk it happening again on the way home so we went to Walmart. It was 6:50 and the car place closed at 7. But they checked the battery and they needed a new one. So we had made it just in time for them to put in a new battery. It was nice to go in the a/c while they installed it so I could feed Kaylie- we were so hot in the car. I felt so bad though that this happened while my parents were doing me a favor taking me to my appointment and that we should have just taken my car.
As we were driving home with the new battery we were talking about our experience. At first we thought we shouldn't have gone to the temple- then it wouldn't have happened and we would have made it home ok. But then my dad said that if we didn't stop there he probably would have stopped at a rest stop down the road anyway. And if the car hadn't started there- we would have been in trouble. We might have gotten a jump, but not a new battery. So we were beginning to think it was a blessing. And then my dad said that the fact he found the binky was a miracle- after we looked and looked- and maybe meant for us to see that everything would be all right- and that good things can happen. My mom had said a prayer before the trip that the car would make it. (They have car problems a lot!!) And that prayer was answered. So even though it is a silly little binky, it means a little more to us now!
A long story, I know. But I just had to document it.
