Are you Kidding Me?!?

So today is the first day of my spring break
and this is what I woke up to.

Yes, that is our pool in our yard- can you tell how much the girls want to go swimming. They dragged it from the shed in the backyard to the front where Matt was doing something on Friday. I was out shopping and I saw it when I came home. It was pretty cold that day so I was a little surprised to see it. Then when I went inside the girls were in their swimming suits. I was worried that Matt really let them go swimming, but he didn't!! They wanted to, of course, though! Too bad they'll have to wait about 4 months to actually go swimming in the pool! People probably think we're crazy as they drive by!

Playing After Church

What could be more fun than a giant ball?!?
It's been hours of entertainment for my kids!

They were pretending it was an airplane.
I hope they were flying somewhere warm!

I guess they went to Hawaii because Rylee suddenly had a lei!
Smart girl!

Here is Rylee and some of her goofy poses!
Crazy girl!

Coloring

I just have to show off my kids' wonderful coloring! I think they do such a great job. I see a lot of coloring every day at school- and Rylee can color better than most of those first graders!!!

And this is Ashlyn's coloring (I drew the picture, so just ignore that part!!). But she did a very good job of staying in the lines herself. Rylee is a great example for her to follow. Again, I think this is better than some of my first graders!!!

Oma's Birthday

Oma, Bradley,
Rylee, Ashlyn, and Mercedes

Helping Oma open presents.

The girls made Oma birthday cards-
here they are showing her Rylee's card.

We love you, Oma!
We hope you had a great birthday-
thanks for letting us celebrate with you!

Ballerina Ashlyn

These are what Ashlyn calls "Zip-a-dee-doo-dah clothes." These are some of Rylee's dance clothes and one of her dances is that song. Ashlyn is getting pretty good at the dance too! Too bad Ashlyn won't be quite old enough for dance this fall- she'll have to wait until next year. I don't know why she was eating her hair!

We sure love you, Oma!

Going to the Mall

"Bye, Mom. I have my purse and my shoes on.
I am going to the mall to see Grandpa."

Ashlyn is my little shopping buddy. She loves to go with me. Rylee, on the other hand, hates it. So she usually stays home with Daddy when she can. It would be easier if Ashlyn stayed home, but it's fun to take her with me too! She even picks out some of her own clothes! She especially loves the sunglasses- and had a fit in Baby Gap because I wouldn't let her get them. They were very stylish, but we'll have to find some cheaper ones somewhere else!

This picture was taken after we really did go to the mall and see Grandpa.
Grandpa is the best part of going to the mall.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Green is so much better with pink!! I was looking at pictures from last year and we were in short sleeves and capris jumping on the trampoline last St. Patrick's Day. I didn't think that would be happening this year, but I was hoping. The sun did shine today, but it is windy and cold. So it will be a while before we get any spring pictures.

Braids and Spring Fever

I guess I'm just starting to realize that Ashlyn isn't a baby anymore. The other day Rylee told me that I have two kids. I didn't quite get it, but then she explained that Ashlyn isn't a baby so I have two kids now. I don't think I realized just how long her hair is getting either. I've started to braid it in two braids a little more, but on Saturday she requested her hair to be like Rylee's (in one braid) so I thought I'd try it. And it looked pretty good and stayed in pretty well most of the day. So I guess I have two kids now!

I also went shopping on Saturday for spring/summer clothes for the girls. I guess it was a little too soon considering it snowed today. Not for very long, but I did see it coming down while I was in school. I wasn't very happy! But anyway I let them wear their new shirts and then they wore their new dresses on Sunday. Hopefully the spring weather really will come with the first day of spring!!!

Powerpuff Girls

Rylee has been starting to get very interested in learning her letters and the sounds. She loves writing her letters. She knows some of them on her own, but I write some of them and then she copies them. She has very nice handwriting and is very good at copying the letters. She loves writing friends' and family's names- and the Powerpuff Girls. She will even hear some words and say, "Hey, that starts like . . ."

So here she is with her Powerpuff Girls and the names she wrote. She noticed that all of the girls start with a "B" like Bradley. I have tried to associate the letters with the beginning of names in our family. With both sides of the family, we can actually match a lot of the letters.

"I Need Money!"

We went to Arctic Circle last night so the girls could play and they like to get little toys from the machines. They were playing for a little while and then Ashlyn went over to look at the toys. She then went to Matt and said, "I need money, Dad." We thought it would be a while before we heard that! She didn't say, "Can I have a toy?" She knew what she needed- it was just so matter-of-fact.

Lipstick and the Newspaper

On Sunday Rylee was in the bathroom with me as I was getting ready. She was being so quiet and I thought she was just watching me. But I looked over and this is what I saw- she put her lipstick on all by herself! It actually scared me at first- I didn't know what it was and I just kind of glanced at it. This is her lipstick from dance- she had to have a specific kind- so I guess she thought she could put it on herself. Needless to say she did not go to church like this (her hair was actually done and she wasn't wearing lipstick)! Silly girl!

Ashlyn decided after church that she needed to read the newspaper. She was really going through it- I think she was looking at the sports section. Silly girl #2!

East Idaho Dance Showcase

As she was getting ready, we realized her Lalaloopsy doll was the same color as her costume, so she had to be in the picture too!

Hailey did her hair- THANK YOU, HAILEY!
They had to have it done a certain way and
I'm not very good at ringlets,
so I asked Hailey if she would do it for us.
She did a great job!

It was at Shelley High School.
She also has an end-of-the-year recital in May,
so this was just an extra chance to perform.

Rylee with Jeneva- a girl in her primary class.

Ashlyn really wants to dance too!
Too bad she has to wait another couple of years!

We were on the front row, but not in the right spot. And Rylee was in the back row, so it was hard to get pictures and video. We got lots of pictures of the girl in front of her though!

Rylee's dance teacher gave them all a sucker, but Rylee had a little taste and didn't like it. So she gave it to Ashlyn. And I actually ended up with it!

Rylee did a great job!
