Frog Family Reunited

Rylee has this frog family- dad, mom, kid, and baby. A couple of weeks ago she lost the baby- she was very upset. We couldn't find it anywhere. Then a few days ago she lost the daddy frog. So she's been telling everyone wherever we go that she lost her dad frog and her baby frog. Today we had to take Ashlyn to the doctor (Yes, for the third time this month. First strep, then croup, and now an ear infection. She has been miserable and she has made us all miserable!). But anyway, while we were telling the nurse the problems we were having, Rylee says, "Doctor, I lost my daddy frog and my baby frog. I can't find them anywhere." The nurse asked her where she had looked and they talked about it for a minute. It wasn't until the nurse looked concerned about these frogs that I realized she thought they were real! When we got home I was determined to find these frogs. I knew she didn't take them anywhere so they were here somewhere. Well I finally found the baby under her bed. She was so happy! Then she found her frog daddy in her toy box. So for right now she has the whole family- she is as happy as can be!! And Ashlyn is on another antibiotic so hopefully she is happy soon too!

"You can fix it!"

Yesterday Matt was working on his truck and he came in the house very frustrated. He said he just wanted to drive it off a cliff or something. Rylee said, "That's not a very good idea, Daddy. You can fix it! You're a daddy!" She is such a sweet girl!

Best Friend

Yesterday we went to Oma's to meet Matt's cousin, Kathi, from Austria. She is a teacher and she is here to volunteer at IFHS for a few weeks. She was just teaching in China. Rylee and Ashlyn immediately loved her. Rylee told her several times that she was her best friend. She was so nice to play in the sandbox, push Rylee on the swings, and jump with the girls- pretty much whatever Rylee told her to do. She can be very bossy sometimes! Ashlyn wanted her to hold her the whole time too. They were both sad when we had to go home last night. But Kathi and Oma just came to our house to visit for a minute, so they were as happy as can be to see her again! The girls also had fun with Aunt Hailey- she's also very nice to play with them outside.

Going for a Drive

More Swinging Fun

This time, they were at Oma's- I think they swing all day while I'm at school! That's what they're usually doing when I go to pick them up. And I have to push them for a while before they'll go home with me- just so they can get on our swings! Crazy girls!

Horses

We love our neighbors, the horses. Matt is the only one who gets close to them though!

At the River

We went to the river to feed the ducks- Matt told me when we got there that the ducks weren't even there yet. But I did see a few. And Rylee still fed the geese. The weather was sunny and windy when we left our house. After being at the river just a few minutes we felt raindrops, so we thought we better go before it got worse. We were just in time- it started pouring as we were driving away. We'll have to go back when it gets a little warmer.

Swinging

Both Rylee and Ashlyn would swing all day if they could- they love it. Our swingset also has a little playhouse thing under the slide and that is Ashlyn's favorite place to go- she loves to open and close the door and then peek out the windows- so cute!

Pigtails!

I somehow managed to do Ashlyn's hair today in pigtails- it wasn't easy! But I thought I should give it a try. She still doesn't have much on top, but the back looked pretty good! And she obviously wasn't happy about getting her picture taken.

Big Girl

Ashlyn has decided that she now has to sit up at the bar or at the table to eat with us. This is her eating cereal this morning- crazy girl!

She has also been interested in going potty, so I've let her sit on the potty a few times. She hasn't actually gone for me, but Oma put her on the potty on Friday and she went! She wants to be like Rylee and the big kids.

This Week

Here are some random pictures from this week and a funny little story from today. I was singing Elmo's World, but I changed the words to Rylee's World. She said don't say that, and I asked why. She said because that's ridiculous! She's so funny! (She doesn't like me singing at all- and even Ashlyn has started to say no when I sing- am I really that bad?!?)

Family Portrait- Rylee, Ashlyn, Mommy, and Daddy

Enjoying a banana

Ashlyn loves to play in the car-
we let her play for a few minutes when we get home.

Rylee loves her horses- she put them to bed on the couch.
There's a baby, a kid, a mom, and a dad.
She seems to have to have all those of everything-
she makes me draw pictures of things and she has me draw a mom, dad, kid, and baby.
It's so cute!

Ashlyn has started to really like our neighbor's horses- she has to see them every day. It's so nice to be able to watch and enjoy them without having to take care of them or get too close. That's my idea of a good pet!

Snow Day!

School was canceled today due to snow- in April! Only in Idaho! It snowed 4 inches last night and there was blowing and drifting snow. It snowed more in the winter and we never got a snow day, but maybe the city wasn't as prepared with the snowplows and everything today. I'm not complaining about the day off, but why does it have to snow in April?!? So my spring break turned into a week and two days- I'm really not going to be ready to go back tomorrow!! (I stayed home with Ashlyn yesterday because she was sick.) I hope Ashlyn is a little nicer today- she is a miserable sick baby. I think she's finally starting to get better though.

Easter Morning

Rylee loved Easter, but Ashlyn was too sick to care. She was the most miserable Sunday morning- poor thing. The only thing that could calm her down and put her to sleep was the Mormon Tabernacle Choir during conference! But Rylee and Ashlyn both loved Rylee's Spiderman markers- that was the only thing that made Ashlyn happy. So even though I don't usually let her use them, I let her- anything to make her happy!! She didn't care too much about her basket. And the candy didn't interest her either- which meant she really was sick. That girl loves candy- especially chocolate!

I had planned to take better pictures in their Easter dresses, but nobody was in the mood for dressing up and taking pictures!

Easter Eggs

Grandma and Uncle Cory came to color Easter eggs with us- Rylee had a great time- no pants and all! Ashlyn, on the other hand, was not feeling well. Ashlyn did want to help though. (She was sick all weekend with strep- the most miserable sick baby ever!!!) Rylee was very proud of her eggs!

Spring or Winter?!?

We woke up to a winter wonderland this morning- I thought this was spring break- not Christmas break! I thought I would be able to put away my winter clothes and get out the summer clothes this week, but I still need my sweaters. It's so sad!
